چکیده
Abstract The garden dormouse Eliomys quercinus has been declining in both abundance and range since the mid-twentieth century. eastern edge of its contracted from Ural Mountains to Germany. Habitat loss fragmentation most supported theory explain observed decline. Climate change implicated declines other terrestrial mammals, but not investigated for E. . To better understand factors influencing distribution this species map habitat suitability across Europe, we created a Maxent model. Among main environmental variables used modelling, two novel climate indicator were produced indicate degree between early twentieth century present. Areas high mapped, variable importance estimated using jackknife tests contribution metrics. indicators outperformed many conventional variables, which could that is factor behind current We also analysed land use types where presence points located whether they areas “high nature value farmland”. Over 30% all spatially filtered corresponded farmland areas. Our results role changing (particularly temperature) decline , practices conserving species. Field studies improved monitoring are recommended confirm possible findings.

Modelling the effects of climate change on the distribution of Kura bleak (Alburnus filippii Kessler, 1877) on the Iranian scale
The phenomenon of climate change is the greatest environmental challenge facing in the world today. The phenomenon is expected to affect all ecosystems in the world. Freshwater ecosystems are more vulnerable to these changes, as freshwater is exposed to various human pressures such as hydrology, morphology, connectivity and water quality. Therefore, climate change along with the mentioned issue...
متن کاملModelling potential impacts of climate change on the oak spatial distribution (Case study: Ilam and Lorestan provinces)
Examining the effects of climate change on the oak spatial distribution, as the main species of Zagros forests and its ecological and economic values is of significant importance. Here, we used species distribution models for simulating current climatic suitability of oak and its potential changes in 2050 and 2070. For this purpose, five regression-based and machine learning approaches, four cl...
متن کاملModeling the effect of climate change to the potential invasion range of Piper aduncum Linnaeus
The potential effect of invasive plant species on biodiversity is one of most important subject of inquiry at present. In many parts of the world, the alarming spread of these plants has been documented. Knowing that climate exerts a dominant control over the distribution of plant species, predictions can therefore be made to determine which areas the species would likely spread under a climate...
متن کاملLong-term data from a small mammal community reveal loss of diversity and potential effects of local climate change
Climate change affects distribution and persistence of species. However, forecasting species' responses to these changes requires long-term data series that are often lacking in ecological studies. We used 15 years of small mammal trapping data collected between 1978 and 2015 in 3 areas at Doñana National Park (southwest Spain) to (i) describe changes in species composition and (ii) test the as...

Parameters such as future precipitation, temperature, snowfall, and runoff were modeled using PRECIS regionalclimate modeling system in Iran with the horizontal resolutions of 0.44×0.44°C in latitude and longitude under SRESA2 and B2 scenarios. The dataset was based on HadAM3p during the periods of 1961-1990 and 2071-2100. Theoverall precipitation error of the model in the period of 1961-1990 w...
